A lot of people are talking about the gas prices and why they are so high!!!  The reason is becuase of what is going on in the eastern side of the world in the oil producing countries such as Egypt and Libya. They are having conflict in those regions over government and this has decreased oil production. Prices have gone up by almost 50 cents per gallon! That may not seem like much, but let’s say you need to fill up your car with gas and your gas tank holds 24 gallons. Since gas is about$3.55, you would multiply that by 24 and that would cost about $85 for a full tank of gas!!! Imagine what you could do with all of that extra money if you didn’t have to spend it on gas!!! That’s not even the worst part. Experts say that the gas prices will go over $4.00 per gallon by Memorial Day!! This is why the people of the U.S. need to start moving away from oil as their main source of fuel. Theeconomy was just starting to get better and then this happened! Leave in the comments what you would do with eighty-five dollars.

On January 12 2010, a massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the republic of Haiti. Before this earthquake, Haiti was a poor country, and most Haitians were living on less than 1 U.S. dollar per day. When this earthquake happened, many of people were trapped in the rubble, and they had no homes or shelter. Many organizations acted quickly and started suppling food and temporary shelters. As you may have heard, the olympics are going on now!! They are being held in Vancouver, British Columbia. If you don’t know where that is, here is a map!!

One of my teachers friends daughter is in the olympics!!! Her name is Brianne Mclaughlin. She is apart of the women’s hockey team!! She is the goalie.

I have been out and about lately and I have been seeing that lots of stores are being Eco-friendly . For example, The Home Depot. I was there recently and I found out something very interesting, they were giving away free Green products. They gave me a faucet aerator, and a CFL bulb. If you don’t know what a faucet aerator is, I will tell you. It lets in air into the water, which if there is 50% air in the water, then not as much water is being used, therefore, saving water. So if your faucet without the aerator use 4 gallons of water per minute, and then you added the aerator and the aerator made the water have 50% air, the water usage would be cut in half, therefore making the water flow 2 gallons per minute.      Hello its The Haystacks Gang and I just found out that Tropicana is trying to help save the Rainforest. Until December 31 2009, you can enter codes on specially marked cartons of Tropicana Pure Premium Orange juice. For every code you enter, you will save 100 square feet of rainforest. They are in partnership with Coolearth. Please, if you have Tropicana Pure Premium orange juice, take advantage of this. They really are going green!

     I don’t know if you all know this, but today is Friday the thirteenth!!!!! This is the first on out of the three we will have!! The next one is in March!! so two Friday the thirteenths in a row!!! I hope you don’t have bad luck!!! Also the big Digital T.V. switch is today.

As you can see, the site has changed for winter! Are you excited for Christmas, I am. I will make a countdown. I will also make one for new years!

     Gas is going down. There is no doubt about it. The lowest I’ve seen is $1.38 per gallon. Well we know its going down, but why? Here is the answer. It has to do with the presidential election. The candidates are doing this to get more votes. It is apart of their campaign trail. They are also doing this to help the economy. The economy is struggling right now because of high prices on things you need like milk, eggs, and other must-have items. Gas is another reason. Some people say that this may be another Great Depression. The original Depression began in the 1930′s and lasted for about 10 years. In that depression lots of people didn’t have jobs, like now. After the president is elected, the gas prices will go back up again.

     Guess what season it is? Its fall! The site has changed can’t you tell? Are you excited for Halloween? I know I am! You know why, ITS ON A FRIDAY!!! Later on in October, I will post some Halloween Trick-or-Treat safety tips. I currently have no pictures to post yet because my camera isn’t working very well. I’m sorry I haven’t been updating the site because I have been to busy with school. I promise that I will put up a new post every week or add more advice. Speaking of advice, another reason I haven’t been keeping the site updated is because I’ve been working real hard on some new advice categories. I will try to have those up as soon as possible. I am also going to try some new advertising methods that YOU can help with. Also NEW games soon!
