On January 12 2010, a massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the republic of Haiti. Before this earthquake, Haiti was a poor country, and most Haitians were living on less than 1 U.S. dollar per day. When this earthquake happened, many of people were trapped in the rubble, and they had no homes or shelter. Many organizations acted quickly and started suppling food and temporary shelters.
